Facilities

Where the training actually happens.

An Accredited Driving Training Centre is defined by its infrastructure. The track, the simulators and the classrooms are what separate it from an ordinary driving school, and what allow the driving-skill test to be conducted on campus.

Automated test track

Automated test track

A purpose-built track laid out to the standard an Accredited Driving Training Centre is required to provide, where the driving-skill test is conducted on campus.

  • Figure-of-eight and H-track circuits
  • Reverse parking and parallel parking bays
  • S-curve and angular parking
  • Gradient slope for uphill starts and downhill control
  • Lane discipline and junction markings
  • Separate heavy vehicle manoeuvring area
Driving simulator lab

Driving simulator lab

Simulators let a trainee meet conditions that cannot be staged safely on a track, and repeat them until the response becomes automatic.

  • Rain, fog and night driving conditions
  • Highway driving at speed
  • Skid, brake failure and tyre burst scenarios
  • Blind-spot and overtaking judgement
  • Separate heavy vehicle simulator for HMV trainees
  • Session-by-session performance recording
Theory classrooms

Theory classrooms

Classroom instruction covers the theory component prescribed in the course syllabus — 8 hours for LMV, 16 hours for HMV.

  • Traffic education, road signs and markings
  • Vehicle mechanism theory with demonstration
  • Causes of accidents and case studies
  • Road etiquette, public relations and driver conduct
  • First aid and fire safety instruction
  • Computer-based learning stations
Training vehicles

Training vehicles

Dual-control training vehicles across the classes we train for, inspected before each session.

  • Light motor vehicles for LMV training
  • Heavy goods vehicles for HMV training
  • Two-wheelers, geared and gearless
  • e-Rickshaw for three-wheeler transport training
  • Tankers for dangerous goods practical sessions
